John Lahtinen


John is the Director of Communications at the Northeast Performance Institute.

The mission of Northeast Performance Institute is to be the most progressive and inclusive player centered development environment in the country. We offer programs for all players from ages 4 to 94 while also offering programs for Veterans and our friends with special needs. Northeast Performance institute provides a comprehensive approach to helping players accomplish their personal goals through a staff of Professional Golf Coaches, Mental Coaches, Physical Therapy Services, and Training Professionals. NPI brings the full team to the player.

John has served as a freelance writer/editor with more than 25 years of professional and educational experience involving news, communications, education and marketing.  He holds a master's degree in journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in English from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

In addition to writing for business publications, newspapers and academia, John has written for Golf News Net, GolfWRX, 2nd Swing Golf, GolfPunk USA, The News Hub, and Pink Ribbon Cooking, a healthy eating website dedicated to cancer patients and their families.

John has worked and/or written for several news organizations (The Hartford Business Journal, The Hartford Courant, The Charlotte Observer, Back9Network, Swing By Swing Golf, The Connecticut Green Guide, The Burlington Free Press, The Providence Business News, The Worcester Business Journal, CTLatinoNews, The Plattsburgh Press-Republican) and universities (Yale Law School, Skidmore College, The University of New Haven, Norwich University).
